Every man and his dog are SEO Experts!
It infuriates me when I see and hear of so-called SEO experts / Gurus offering internet related services when they have no runs on the board themselves. Don’t get me wrong – there are many reputable website designers and internet marketing companies, but the numbers are small in comparison to those offering such services.
It just amazes me how these so called experts can sleep at night knowing that it is unlikely that they will ever get a return on investment for their clients.
Investing in internet marketing is no different to traditional marketing in that you must measure your results. But hey – there is no point in even considering investing in a newspaper advertising campaign for example if the newspaper is not relevant to your target market or if it has little or no circulation.
All advertising, whether it is online advertising or offline, must bring a return on investment -otherwise you might as well keep your money in your pocket.
How do you avoid the mistake of going with the wrong online marketing company? Ask Questions!
- How long have you been the business of Internet Marketing?
- Ask for testimonials and more importantly be sure to speak with their referees.
- Search for their services online. See if you can find their website using keywords or phrases that are relevant to the services on offer. If you cannot find them on page 1 of Google or Bing this should tell you something. For example, if it is a Sunshine coast internet marketing company you are looking for, search Google using ‘Sunshine coast internet marketing company’ or ‘Internet Marketing Sunshine Coast‘.
And above all, if they offer a guarantee of a number 1 ranking for a keyword, avoid them like the plague!

If you’ve ever wished you could work from home but were put off by all those work from home advertising scams, take note of Australian Tru Blue’s online success story.
Having designed and developed their online store for them, we here at Suncoast Internet are delighted that the subsequent Search Engine Optimisation campaign has been so successful it has allowed Riama and John to shut down their bricks-and-mortar store in Caloundra. As Riama told the Sunshine Coast Daily, “What I make in one day on the net would take me three weeks to make in the shop.”
We continue to enjoy a great relationship with Riama and John who are keen to build on this winning formula. Keep an eye on the gourmet foods website for more exciting developments and locally sourced delicious products. Meanwhile, check out the Sunshine Coast Daily article for yourself.

The long-awaited photo shoot of the celebrities and starlets of Suncoast Internet finally arrived this week when Sunshine Coast professional photographer, Guy Halliday, worked up a real sweat to get a few hundred snaps of the well-dressed staff for our new corporate brochure.
Despite the fact that this impending session was delayed for a month or two while waiting for our new uniforms, we were still not completely organised on the day with client meetings going on in separate rooms while Guy busily set up his equipment in the matchbox space he was allotted.
Nonetheless, the girls and boys looked fabulous in their new uniforms and along with recent haircuts and restyling; they all looked a pretty picture. Of course the proof will be in the finished product and Guy will really earn his fee with all the airbrushing needed to eliminate the shadows, red eyes and rabbit ear victory signs.
And not forgetting Google the Starstruck Poodle who relished the opportunity to be photographed in his best suit, duly cut, brushed and styled.
Watch this space for a photo preview.

I attended the community forum last night and was suitably impressed by the can-do positive attitude of Paul Pisasale. If Big Bob can engender the same positive outlook towards our future and convince the State and Federal Government of the need to support the Council’s plans, then I’m sure we can emulate the achievements of Mr Pisasale and the Ipswich City Council.

In Suncoast Internet’s case it takes 3: One to go out and buy the drill, one to hold the other end of the board and one to shout, "Up a bit, down a bit!" Only trouble is, our web developer in charge of horizontal hold may need his eyes checking as the end result is distinctly odd.
Never mind, here at Suncoast Internet we’re flexible and dynamic enough to adapt to any tough situation, not the least of which is writing on a slope.

Google the poodle here again.
What ON EARTH is going on round this office? Everybody knows that I’M the chief meeter and greeter in the office but lately a lot of doors seem to have been shut in my face and I have been prevented from carrying out my duties, as outlined in my job description.
I can’t understand it. Clients love my tap dancing welcome routine on the laminate floor boards as they come through the door; they adore it when I jump up and down a lot to say hello; and they love it when I bring them little cuddly bear gifts – even when I don’t let them keep it. So what’s the big idea? (more…)
