Outside England’s Bristol Zoo there is a parking lot for 150 cars and 8 buses. For 25 years, its parking fees were managed by a very pleasant attendant.
The fees were £1 for cars ($1.40), £5 for busses (about $7).

 Then, one day, after 25 solid years of never missing  a day of work, he just didn’t show up; so the Zoo Management called the City Council and asked it to
send them another parking agent.

The Council did some research and replied that the parking lot was the Zoo’s own responsibility. The Zoo advised the Council that the attendant was a City employee.

The City Council responded that the lot attendant had never been on the City payroll.

Meanwhile, sitting in his villa somewhere on the coast of Spain (or some such scenario), is a man who’d apparently had a  ticket machine installed completely on his own; and then had simply begun to show up every day, commencing to collect and keep the parking fees,
estimated at about $560 per day — for 25 years.

Assuming 7 days a week, this amounts to just over $7 million dollars! And… no one ever knew his name

Get to the Maroochy RSL early and have a feed at the Infusion Bistro, or enjoy a coffee at Coffee on First, or a drink at the Bar Bar. Or you can just sit and relax in The Avenue and wait for the star act to make its stage debut.

It’s surprising what a couple of weeks rest and relaxation can do for the morale…and for inspiration. Now that the festive season is once again behind us we can look forward to producing some more fabulous website designs for our valued clients and coming up with a few unique Internet Marketing ideas to enhance our client’s businesses. We have already set some major goals to achieve this year and we’re surprised at how easy it’s been to get the ball rolling. The staff are keen and receptive and have their best foot on the pedal. Well it’s good to be back among the positive people of BNI again to start the year of 2010. Members and guests turned up in their droves for the first meeting of the year with 67 present and correct and all ready to rock ‘n roll.

Members were delighted to learn that BNI Team Winning Edge turned over $1.17 million in closed business last year and that equates to approximately 0.97 referrals per head per week. Not bad for a fledgling organisation that has the goal of being the largest BNI group in Australia as its target.

BNI went on Tuesday as always (Over 50 at the meeting) Go Team Winning Edge. BNI Team Winning Edge is the largest Business Networking  Chapter in Australia and the first to reach a membership of 50. Been promised Platinum Badges, I am assuming they will be here soon.

Our whole BNI chapter had 1 minute videos done last week. Great fun and looking forward to see everyone in action in videos.  I must say that it was easier said than done, getting in front of the camera spruiking off about one’s self.  We have such a fantastic team of members in Team Winning Edge, everyone had a great time and the day went smoothly. They’d all previously had bad experiences with back yard web developers. It’s unbelievable how many of our new clients are individuals / companies that have been let down by so called web development experts selling themselves as experts when really they have little or no experience.  Whilst this could be looked upon as being a good thing for us; more often than not, it is small business and individuals that are being ripped off and can’t afford to just write off 5 or 10 thousand dollars on a website that doesn’t work, with little or no support.
